I’ve been writing songs for about 30 years – ever since my junior year of high school, when a friend’s fake Hofner bass inspired me to start playing. As with fiction writing, it takes a long time to produce anything worthwhile, which is why the bulk of the lyrics I’m including here are from the past decade. I try to make the lyrics stand alone, which is another reason why they’re here without their melodies.
Some tunes I played while in The Nerve (2006-2009); some were featured in The Wetsuits (2009-2016); some haven’t been played in either band, because they’re too singer-songwriterly and don’t lend themselves to a band arrangement.
